GUARD CARD TRAINING COURSE OVERVIEW
This one day eight (8) hour course is for persons interested in becoming security officers in the State of California and must be completed in order to apply for a Guard Card. A security officer cannot be assigned to a post until he/she has a Guard Card. Obtaining a Guard Card is a three (3) step process. We are the only training facility in the Bay Area that offers the Class, Live Scan fingerprinting, and online submission of the Security Guard Application - all onsite and on the same day! This class is offered most Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 8:00am-4:00pm. See our Training Calendar for scheduled class dates (WALK-INS ARE WELCOME ON THE MORNING OF CLASS).
Training Course (Step 1)
Power to Arrest (4) Hours
In addition to taking the Security Guard Card Training Class, you will also need to have Live Scan fingerprinting done. On-Site Live Scan Fingerprinting Fees with DOJ and FBI Checks is $71.00
Guard Card Application (Step 3)
The final step is to submit an application with fees to the State. The Bureau of Security Application fee is $51.00. This is the State fee.
Although you are not required to submit Live Scan fingerprints and apply for your Guard Card on the day of training, we strongly suggest that you do so as your application will be approved by the State sooner if it is processed electronically. We can process your Guard Card application online at no additional cost to you. Guard Card applications processed electronically are typically approved in 7-10 business days, compared to 4-6 weeks when processed through the mail.
Methods of Payment
You may register and pay online or over the phone in advance with a credit or debit card. At our office, you may pay with cash, credit, debit, or a Money Order. We DO NOT accept checks.
Classroom Requirements
Proper attire should be worn (casual clothing is fine), no hats. You will be required to bring a notebook, a pen and your picture ID. Cellular phones will need to be silenced.
There is no eating allowed in the classroom, however there are plenty of food options in the area!
We reserve the right to refuse services to anyone who is disruptive to the class or instructor. All fees are Non-Refundable after the start of class.
